Being a K-12 Technology Leader can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be one of the most stressful and isolating roles in education. You're responsible for keeping critical systems running, protecting the district from growing cybersecurity threats, supporting staff and students, managing tight budgets, and somehow meeting impossible deadlines along the way.
When things go wrong, there often isn't another person in your district who truly understands the challenges you're facing.
That's why having a trusted network of peers is so valuable. Sometimes you need expert advice. Sometimes you need a second opinion. And sometimes you just need someone who understands exactly what you're dealing with.

K-12 Cybersecurity was created to give K-12 technology leaders a trusted place to connect, share experiences, and learn from peers who understand the unique challenges of the role.
If you've worked in K-12 long enough, you've probably experienced it. Some of the most valuable conversations didn't happen during the conference sessions. They happened in the hallway, over lunch, or after the County Tech Directors meeting when a trusted colleague shared what worked, what didn't, and how they solved a problem you were facing.
That's exactly what we've recreated with k12cybersecurity.com.
K-12 Cybersecurity is a community built specifically for leaders responsible for technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations in school districts. Our focus is on the operational and security side of K-12 technology, rather than instructional technology.
This community was founded by Mark Finlayson, who spent 25 years leading technology initiatives in K-12 and another decade advising districts ranging from 200 to 200,000 students, and all sizes in between.
